Stephen Appiah visits Mohammed Kudus in London; explains his Black Stars appointment

Ghanaian football legend Stephen Appiah has begun his role as Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee with a visit to Mohammed Kudus in London.

Appiah, who is in charge of player relations, met Kudus on Saturday in what was his first official engagement since taking up the position.

His appointment comes at a critical time for the national team, which recently failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

During the visit, Appiah explained why he accepted the role, despite being part of the previous committee without attending meetings.

He emphasized his commitment to supporting the players and helping them regain top form. “I am here to support you guys,” he assured Kudus.

The Black Stars are preparing for crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in June.

Appiah’s visit is seen as part of efforts to boost morale and strengthen player engagement ahead of those matches.

His role is expected to be key in fostering better communication between the players and management.
