Bournemouth boss Iraola praises Antoine Semenyo after standout performance against Man City

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has heaped praise on Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo for the strong work he has been doing throughout the current season.

The 24-year-old scored and delivered a Man of the Match performance as the Cherries toppled Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday in the Premier League.

The former Bristol City forward has now scored four league goals in ten appearances, half of his total tally from last season.

Speaking on Semenyo’s performance after the game, Iraola noted that he is receiving recognition for scoring against the defending champions, but he has been impressive all season.

“He has been playing very well all season. I think we demand a lot from him because I believe he can give a lot. And today, he probably scored, and everyone is giving him more recognition.

“With Milos [Kerkes], he’s playing very well. He’s contributing a lot and providing significant offensive support today to assist, and now he will probably receive the recognition he deserves because I think he’s doing well. But we have to keep going.

“We’ve shown that if we give our best, we can compete against this kind of opposition.”

Semenyo has been linked with several Premier League clubs, with Liverpool mentioned as monitoring his progress and considering him as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
