Mohammed Kudus told what to do to secure Arsenal move
Mohammed Kudus must elevate his performances at West Ham if he hopes to secure a move to a bigger club, according to former club scout Mick Brown.
Brown, who worked at the London Stadium as a senior scout before departing alongside former manager David Moyes, revealed that clubs are hesitant about signing Kudus due to his inconsistent displays.
Reports suggest that Arsenal have been closely monitoring the 24-year-old and could act on their long-standing interest.
However, Brown claims the Gunners have been unimpressed with his performances this season, delaying any potential move.
Kudus, reportedly eager to join a higher-profile club, may push for a transfer if West Ham fail to qualify for European competition.
“He’s got to step up for West Ham before he can go elsewhere,” he told Football Insider. “He isn’t playing at the level he is capable of playing at this season, for whatever reason.
“For me, he’s always had an issue where he impacts a game for an hour, but then he hits a wall. He isn’t even performing for that hour at the moment.
“Scouts watching him from the likes of Arsenal will be looking at that and looking at his consistency, and based on this season I don’t think they’ll be convinced.
“They won’t be willing to spend the major money it would take to sign him, on a player who hasn’t been performing.
“If he wants to move on like I expect he will if they don’t get European football, he needs to show he’s capable of making that step up.
“The only way he can do that is by performing at his best for West Ham.”
So far this season, Kudus has struggled to replicate his previous form, registering only three goals and two assists across 21 appearances.
